This Is Kasey

 Back in October 2020, I had to have my sweet baby girl Hiker put down because she had developed liver failure. I adopted her from a rescue right after my husband Ben passed away and she was my rock. She got me through my grieving years. She was about 10 years old and I had her for 9 wonderful years when we found out she was sick. I miss her so much. I had said I would never get another dog because it hurt so much to lose Hiker, but 6 months after losing her, I could not stand it anymore. So I adopted this cute little girl from another rescue. She is so smart and so sweet. I've had her now for a year and realized I had not shared her here on my blog. She is a Chiweenie. Say hello to Kasey.

The "Christmas Card" Church

My favorite Hallmark Channel Christmas movie is "The Christmas Card". If you've seen the movie, you'll recognize this church as the one they used in the movie. It is located in Nevada City, CA. I have visited Nevada City twice, once when my husband was still alive and he and I went through there and again in 2018 when my two brothers and I visited this quaint little town. If you are every in that area, I recommend you stop and have a look.

Antiquing A Few Years Back

A few years back, before the Covid-19 Virus, I used to hit the Antique Mall near my home here in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California. I don't always buy things, but it is so fun to look. I saw this toy Tonka Truck, with the original rubber tires from the 1950's. It was in very good condition for it's age.

Vasquez Rocks

One day back in 2018 while I was walking around Vasquez Rocks with my late dog Hiker, I saw this guy up on the big rock. I went up there once when I was younger, but don't think I could do it now.

Nevada City, CA

 

Nevada City, CA is such a cool little town in northern California. It is in the foothills of the Sierras. I have been lucky enough to visit there twice. If you are a fan of the Hallmark Christmas movie "The Christmas Card", this is the town where they filmed that movie.

I enjoy going to antique malls and looking at the old stuff. I'm hoping that now that the Covid virus rules a winding down that our local antique mall will once again open.
