Quick Day Trip

Got up early this morning because we had a dog walk with Jean. We were sitting on my patio letting the dogs play. Jean and I had been trying to figure out a day to drive up to Lancaster to the California Poppy Reserve and we made a spur of the moment decision to drive up there today, so by 10 am, we were on our way up the 14 Freeway heading north.
Was in the mid-70’s while we were there and very windy as usual. Not as many poppies as they had last year, so we were a little disappointed, but it was still fun to get out in the fresh air and walk around. For me it was nice since I had been cooped up so long with that cold I had.
On the way home, we stopped at the Antique Barn on Avenue I and look around for about 30 minutes. Jean bought a couple of items, but I didn’t really see anything I wanted.
When we got back to Canyon Country, we stopped at Casa Vieja for a late lunch and then headed home.
Hiker was excited to see me. I feel sorry for her because for 2 weeks I was sick and didn’t pay much attention to her and now that I’m feeling better, I have been on the go, doing my shopping and going for doctor’s appointments, etc. I told her I’ll spend all day tomorrow with her.
She won’t like it Sunday because Jean and I are going to the Crafty Ladies craft fair over in Granada Hills.
